Charlottetown, PEI, February 27, 2017 – Special Olympics PEI has received financial support from the PEI Union of Public Sector Employees through the UPSE Has a Heart Campaign. The PEI Union of Public Sector Employees has been a longtime supporter of Special Olympics PEI, and Special Olympics PEI is grateful for this ongoing support.
The 2017 contribution of UPSE Has a Heart Campaign is supporting a new youth initiative recently launched by Special Olympics PEI – Youth Multi Sport. This new program offers an introduction to sport to youth ages 10-21, and is a stepping stone for young athletes who have completed Special Olympics PEI’s current youth programs – Active Start and FUNdamentals. Launched in Charlottetown in January, support for the new program is growing, with 10 athletes now participating.
For more information on this new Youth Multi Sport program, please call Sarah Profitt, Membership Service Coordinator, at 902-368-8919, or email sarah@sopei.com.
Special Olympics PEI wishes to acknowledge and thank the PEI Union of Public Sector Employees for enriching the lives of Islanders with an intellectual disability through sport.
