April 18-24 is National Volunteer Week. Please join us as we extend a tremendous thank you to all of the volunteers who play a role in both sustaining, and enriching, Special Olympics programs for the overall benefit of our athletes. This past year especially our volunteers have shown resilience as they have shifted and adapted to ensure that our athletes are supported during the pandemic. Our volunteers took on new roles, and were quick to offer support in making virtual programming a reality. For all this, and more, we say thank you.
There is one group of dedicated volunteers we wish to spotlight this year - the PEI Law Enforcement Torch Run.
The theme for this year's National Volunteer Week is The Value of One, The Power of Many, makes our focus on the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics even more fitting. LETR sees individuals from various agencies come together to raise both funds and awareness for Special Olympics. Their collective efforts have raised over $275,000 for Special Olympics PEI over the last 25 years.
To all of the member of the PEI Law Enforcement Torch Run committee we say thank you!
PEI’s Law Enforcement Torch Run
The PEI Law Enforcement Torch Run is made up of members across 10 agencies across the Island. This group of dedicated individuals raises thousands of dollars for Special Olympics PEI programs each year. They have been an active partner of Special Olympics PEI for more than 25 years (since 1991), during which time they have raised over $275,000 to enrich the lives of Island athletes. From Polar Plunges to Truck Convoys, and other annual events, representatives from these agencies have come together, dedicating their personal time to fundraise and support Special Olympics PEI athletes. They are helping create more inclusive communities! Anyone can participate in their LETR fundraising community events. To check out upcoming events stay connected with their Website and Facebook Page
