Dion Phaneuf

Dion Phaneuf has become a marque celebrity guest of the Enriching Lives Gala. A true supporter of the Special Olympics movement, Dion has made use of his personal connections and network to help grow the Enriching Lives Gala, assisting in making Special Olympics PEI’s signature fundraising event a must attend event in PEI. Dion was drafted 9th overall in the 2003 NHL entry draft. During his 14 year NHL career he played for the Calgary Flames, Toronto Maple Leafs, where he served as Team Captain, Ottawa Senators, and Los Angeles Kings.  Dion is a three-time NHL All-Star. He officially announced his retirement from the NHL in November 2021.

Elisha Cuthbert

Actress & Model

Elisha Cuthbert is a longtime support of Special Olympics PEI, and her presence at the Enriching Lives Gala is much anticipated each year. Elisha is the recipient of several film and TV industry awards, including a Gemini, 4 Teen Choice Awards, and 2 Screen Actors Guild Awards. Her films include The Girl Next Door, Old School, Love Actually, Goon: Last of the Enforcers, and most recently, The Cellar and Bandit. Elisha's TV credits include playing Kimberly Bauer on the television show 24 and Abby on Netflick’s The Ranch.

Special olympics pei athlete of the year

Jeremy Wall has been an athlete for over 16 years. In addition to athletics, Jeremy also participates in floor hockey and basketball. He dedicates himself and disciplines himself to improving. Jeremy perseveres and is a great teammate. At all times, he listens to his coaches and always does his best. Jeremy represented Canada and PEI on the world stage at the Special Olympics World Games 2023. Jeremy viewed these Games as completing his comeback story, as his opportunity to show the world what he's got! Jeremy was disappointed with his results at the 2018 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games after being disqualified in the 800m finals. It was heartbreaking that things didn't go Jeremy's way in 2018. Jeremy completed this journey by being selected to Team Canada and achieving gold and two bronze at the 2023 World Summer Games in Berlin.

Special olympics pei athlete of the year

Rhonda Fall has been a Special Olympics athlete for 13 years. She joined Special Olympics to make new friends and gain new experiences. In addition to snowshoeing, Rhonda participates in Soccer, Golf, Swimming, Curling, Fitness, and Walking programs. Rhonda's favourite Special Olympics moment was winning 3 Gold medals at the 2023 Special Olympics New Brunswick Provincial Winter Games. Following this qualifying event, Rhonda was identified for the Team PEI snowshoeing team and will represent PEI at the 2024 Special Olympics Canada Winter Games in Calgary. She is a very dedicated athlete to her training and competition. She uses humour to connect with others and enjoys meeting new people. She is very kind and supportive of her teammates, competitors, coaches and officials.

Max Jardine

Charlottetown Islanders

Max Jardine is a 19 year old defenceman for the Charlottetown Islanders. He is from Miramichi, New Brunswick. He spent two and a half seasons with the Miramichi Timberwolves of the Maritime Junior A Hockey League. In December of 2023 Jardine won a silver medal with Canada East at the World Junior A Challenge. He signed with the Islanders as a free agent in January of 2024.

Lorie Kane

Canadian Golf Hall of Famer

Lorie is a Canadian Golf Hall of Famer and four-time winner on the LPGA Tour, including three victories in 2000 at the Michelob Light Classic, the New Albany Golf Classic, and the Mizuno Classic. In 2018, Kane claimed her fifth career victory on the LPGA Legends Tour at the Wendy’s Charity Classic. With over 25 years’ experience playing on the LPGA Tour, Lorie has amassed an impressive 99 top-10 finishes. For her contributions to Canadian Sport, Lorie received the Order of Canada in 2006, Canada’s highest honour for a civilian, and in 2020 was inducted into Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame. Recognized for her leadership and benevolence off the golf course, Kane is the longest-serving ambassador for the CPKC Has Heart charitable initiative, which has raised over $41M for heart health research initiatives in communities across North America.
