Special Olympics PEI is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. This group of dedicated Islanders dedicate their time and talents to enriching the lives of Islanders with an intellectual disability through their volunteer service on our Board.
This week we are delighted to introduce our Board Secretary, Donna Campbell.
Meet Donna Campbell
Donna Campbell joined Special Olympics PEI's Board of Directors in 2004. She currently serves a Board Secretary. For the past 17 years Donna has been a strong voice for, and a representative of, our members in West Prince. Donna was previously the chairperson for the West Prince committee, holding regular meetings to address issues and concerns specific to West Prince. Donna works as a Bus Driver for the Public Schools Branch, a position she has held for 24 years. In addition to her role on the Board, Donna is a Special Olympics Snowshoe coach and volunteers with Healthy Athletes, a program she calls "the backbone of the organization".
Donna joined the Special Olympics PEI Board "to help provide sport for people with ID (intellectual disabilities) in West Prince" she says.
Donna favourite Special Olympics moment is our Annual Awards, saying "I love seeing the sheer excitement on the faces of the athletes."
