When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?
2008, when I was told by Donna of SOBC – Abbotsford when I took my son horse riding.
Will this be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, which other National Games were you part of and in what role(s)?
First as a coach but went to the 2014 National Games as a spectator and parent for my son Justin who was competing in soccer at those games.
What does it mean to you to be part of Special Olympics Team BC 2024?
Being proud about my team and my son being able to move forward onto higher levels of competition.
What is/are your goal(s) for these National Games?
Coaching the team to help them win a medal and having fun.
What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?
When the Mission soccer team won gold at the 2014 National Games.
What does competing at National Games mean to your athletes? (or, if this is your first National Games, competition in general)
A chance to travel and the opportunity to compete at the national level.
What would you say about Special Olympics to encourage someone to get involved?
The chance to socialize and increase self-esteem.
