Special Olympics BC’s Youth Activation Council is made up of young people from across the province who work together to change the world. YAC members help make their communities more respectful and inclusive by raising awareness about Special Olympics and helping everyone understand all that individuals with intellectual disabilities can do.
The vision of YAC is to create a network of youth leaders who come together to share their ideas and inspiration and then return to their communities energized to champion Special Olympics and ready to take on new projects with help and resources from SOBC and other youth. YAC members provide advice and counsel on strategies designed to reach other youth, support and promote Special Olympics BC activities in their home communities, and inspire others to get involved.
