When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?

2001, when I read an advertisement in the newspaper. I started as a volunteer for 5-pin bowling and Club Fit.

Will this be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, which other National Games were you part of and in what role(s)?

Yes.

What does it mean to you to be part of Special Olympics Team BC 2024?

Incredible, and to see my hard work of learning about different sports that I have coached has paid off.

What is/are your goal(s) for these National Games?

To encourage our athletes that they can do it, and teach them how to improve along the way.

What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?

Every time when an athlete suddenly realizes they accomplished something – the look on their face is so rewarding.

What does competing at National Games mean to your athletes? (or, if this is your first National Games, competition in general)

This is my first National Games. My one athlete is willing to work out during the summer and try his best to help his team compete well.

What storylines are you excited to see develop in your SO Team BC sport team leading up to the National Games?

The athletes working together as a team and learning from each other.

What would you say about Special Olympics to encourage someone to get involved?

Once you see how our athletes are participating in sports you would want to help.
