When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?

In 1998, my mom found it on a website.

Will these be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, which other National Games did you compete in, and in what sports?

Ottawa, PEI, Quebec, and Thunder Bay all in cross country skiing.

What were your results in the 2023 Special Olympics BC Winter Games? How did you feel about your performance?

A gold and two bronzes. I felt really good about my performance.

What does it mean to you to be part of Special Olympics Team BC 2024?

It feels great and awesome as well.

What is your goal for these National Games?

Have fun and do my best and be a good teammate.

What does competing at National Games mean to you?

Have fun and do my best and be a good teammate.

What do you like most about the sport you will compete in at National Games?

I like being in nature and pushing myself to do my best and knowing that even at 42 years old I can still compete.

What would you tell someone about Special Olympics to encourage them to get involved?

That it is lots of fun, you meet great people, and you travel to really great places.

Please tell us a little bit more about yourself! What else would you like people to know about you?

I am an artist, I love movies, I love my family and my friends, and I love staying active and being part of a group.

What is one word you would use to describe yourself? :)

Fun-loving.
