Special Olympics PEI has received a $20,000 donation from PEI Mutual Insurance Company. This year’s donation marks the 30th year that PEI Mutual has been supporting Special Olympics PEI, and brings the collective total donated to $350,500. As the Founding Partner of Special Olympics PEI, PEI Mutual is a champion of Special Olympics athletes in PEI.
Speaking about the partnership, Charity Sheehan, Special Olympics PEI’s Executive Director, said “The last 2 years have been a challenging time for many Islanders, Special Olympics athletes included. Knowing that we have champions like PEI Mutual Insurance Company supporting our work has directly translated into numerous positive benefits for our athletes. Through the pandemic we were able to offer virtual programs when required, and then transition back to in-person programs, safely, when the time was right. Thanks to this continued support, we are able to look forward, and plan what’s next for our athletes, including a return to in-person competitions.”
On behalf of Special Olympics PEI’s over 650 athletes, we express our sincere thanks to the Directors, Agents, and Staff of PEI Mutual for continuing to put their trust in us through their incredible support.
