When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?
I joined a long time ago to be with some friends that are in it.
Will these be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, which other National Games did you compete in, and in what sports?
This is my first Special Olympics Canada Winter Games.
What were your results in the 2019 Special Olympics BC Winter Games? How did you feel about your performance?
I did OK and I felt like I did really well.
What does it mean to you to be part of Special Olympics Team BC 2020?
It's a honour to be part of the 2020 National Games.
What is your goal for these National Games?
To do my best and enjoy my time. I hope to meet new people.
What does competing at National Games mean to you?
It means everything to me. It's one thing to do it for your Local, but to do it for B.C., it's a whole different thing to me.
What do you like most about the sport you will compete in at National Games?
Well it's my first time with Comox, but I like that I get to be part of a new team with new coaching and I will have one of my [Victoria] teammates with me.
What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?
Being an athlete reporter, I like people and talking to them about their sports. It reminds me that I can do anything if I put my mind to it.
What would you tell someone about Special Olympics to encourage them to get involved?
It's so much fun. You don't have to be the best, you just have to do your best and you get to do sports with athletes and make new friends.
What other Special Olympics sports do you participate in?
Floor hockey, Club Fit, bowling, bocce, and soccer.
Please tell us a little bit more about yourself! What else would you like people to know about you?
I am a happy person. I like to do my best and learn new things.
What is one word you would use to describe yourself? :)
Outgoing.
