When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?
I got involved in 1992; one of my friends, who was already involved in Special Olympics, asked me to join.
Will these be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, which other National Games did you compete in, and in what sports?
No, I have been to the National Winter Games eight times and four times for National Summer Games. I have gone for soccer, floor hockey, and curling.
What were your results in the 2019 Special Olympics BC Winter Games? How did you feel about your performance?
Our team won gold in our division. I feel my performance was good and our team played well together.
What does it mean to you to be part of Special Olympics Team BC 2020?
I'm excited as we have a good team and we have been doing a lot of training to be part of Team BC.
What is your goal for these National Games?
My goal is to play my best, work hard, support my teammates, and other athletes.
What does competing at National Games mean to you?
It means having the opportunity to compete at a higher level and do our best.
What do you like most about the sport you will compete in at National Games?
For curling I like being able to play with my teammates and enjoy the sport I love.
What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?
My favourite experience is getting to go the 2020 National Games as part of Team BC.
What would you tell someone about Special Olympics to encourage them to get involved?
To come out and give it a try. You will have fun, meet new friends, and get the opportunity to go to competitions.
What other Special Olympics sports do you participate in?
Curling, basketball, 10-pin bowling, softball, soccer, and Club Fit.
Please tell us a little bit more about yourself! What else would you like people to know about you?
I'm fun to be around and I like to make people laugh.
