When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?

I got involved with Special Olympics in 1998 through friends.

Will these be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, which other National Games did you compete in, and in what sports?

In 2006, 2010, 2014 I competed in swimming at the National Games. In 2012, I also did curling at the National Games.

What were your results in the 2019 Special Olympics BC Winter Games? How did you feel about your performance?

My curling team won gold at the Provincial Games in Vernon, B.C. I felt good about my performance and I feel proud.

What does it mean to you to be part of Special Olympics Team BC 2020?

To be a good team player and make new friends. 

What is your goal for these National Games?

My goal is to win the gold team medal and be proud of what I accomplished.

What does competing at National Games mean to you?

I'm excited to be competing with other curling teams from other provinces across the country.

What do you like most about the sport you will compete in at National Games?

I enjoy being a team player.

What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?

My favourite Special Olympics experience is going to Athens, Greece, to compete in swimming [in the 2011 World Games] and see the different parts of Greece.

What would you tell someone about Special Olympics to encourage them to get involved?

Look at the different sports they offer.

What other Special Olympics sports do you participate in?

Swimming, track, golf, Club Fit, basketball, and curling.

Please tell us a little bit more about yourself! What else would you like people to know about you?

I'm a good team player, I work hard to achieve my goals, and I'm kind.

What is one word you would use to describe yourself? :)
