Wallace MacMaster, known by his friends as Wally, has been a Special Olympics PEI athlete for over 23 years. He first started participating in Special Olympics programs, specifically Cross Country Skiing, after being encouraged by his teachers at Birchwood Intermediate School (including his current Floor Hockey coach, CY Holland). Wallace has fond memories of joining Special Olympics, especially since many of the friends he made back in junior high are still close friends today.
Originally from Georgetown, Wallace has lives in Charlottetown for over 30 years. Wallace works full time at MacDonalds. He enjoys hanging out with friends, playing video games, and cheering on the Montreal Canadians. Wallace participates in Floor Hockey, Softball, and the Synergy Performance Program.
Wallace is a member of the Softball team for PEI, and will be competing at the 2018 National Summer Games in Nova Scotia. He is most looking forward to meeting new people, seeing old friends, and having fun! This will be his fifth National Games. He has competing on the National Games level in three different sports - Floor Hockey, Soccer, and Softball.
Wallace's favourite Special Olympics memory is seeing where the 2010 Olympics were hosted when he traveled to Vancouver for the 2014 National Summer Games.
