In-Person NCCP SOC Introduction to Competition Workshop

The National Coaching Certificate Program Special Olympics Canada Competition Sport Workshop is offered by the Special Olympics BC provincial office for coaches of athletes with intellectual disabilities.

All coaches (except for Active Start and FUNdamentals) are required to complete this course within their first year of coaching Special Olympics athletes.

The NCCP SOC Introduction to Competition workshop is a 13.5-hour course.

This course is developed for adult learning and participation. The facilitator will lead coaches through modules such as coaching athletes with intellectual disabilities, program preparation, competition development, risk management, and much more. There is no exam with this course, pass or fail is simply dependent on participation.

Coaches will receive more information upon registration.

Date: May 3 and 4, 2025

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day

Location: Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex, Coquitlam, B.C.
