For over 20 years, SOBC has partnered with the Canucks for Kids Fund to fundraise through the Sports Celebrities Festival presented by Wheaton Precious Metals. The annual gala helps SOBC empower athletes with intellectual disabilities to gain confidence, acceptance, and pride through sport, and the Canucks for Kids Fund provide vital opportunities, resources and care to children and families throughout B.C.
The 2022 Sports Celebrities Festival presented by Wheaton Precious Medals was an inspiring celebration of the power and joy of sport. The gala featuring Vancouver Canucks players and generous supporters raised more than $550,000 for SOBC and the Canucks for Kids Fund!

Raising their game during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Canucks for Kids Fund generously donated $150,000 to provide vital support for Special Olympics BC’s safe Return to Sport and life-changing health programs.
The Canucks for Kids Fund also played a crucial part in bringing Special Olympics BC Games back in person, serving as the Charity Partner of the 2023 Special Olympics BC Winter Games. In Kamloops, more than 500 athletes from around B.C. competed with pride and reconnected with friends in SOBC’s first Provincial Games in four years. Athletes were thrilled to be back showing their skills on the provincial stage!
