We celebrate the inspiring achievements of the members of the Special Olympics BC family with Indigenous heritage, including accomplished Special Olympics BC – Nanaimo athlete Arianna Phillips!
Phillips is Snuneymuxw and Teeshaht and is a member of Snuneymuxw First Nations, a student at Dover Bay Secondary, and a multi-sport athlete known for her passion for her sports and her pursuit of personal bests.
She made it all the way to the 2019 Special Olympics World Summer Games for athletics, and earned not just medals but also personal bests in all of her events, right when it counted on the world stage.
She has also delivered powerful figure skating performances at two Special Olympics BC and Canada Games, and has worked hard to make her dreams come true. Arianna, we are proud to know you.
