Speed skating members of the Special Olympics Team BC 2024 Training Squad are looking to kick it into high gear at the National Games! The team features nine athletes from SOBC – Abbotsford, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Richmond, Surrey, and Vancouver, who are pumped to be competing with pride and create lasting memories.
The team is powered by three seasoned coaches from Abbotsford, Coquitlam, and Vancouver. All three coaches have their children on the team competing as athletes: father/coach Stanley Chang and son/athlete Trevor, mother/coach Donna Bilous and daughter/athlete Paige Norton, and mother/coach Rosella Infanti and son/athlete Nicholas Libera.
“It’s always really exciting to be engaged with your kids in a sport that we as coaches are passionate about. It’s exciting to be a part of that and watch their growth and see them connect,” says SOBC – Abbotsford coach Donna Bilous.
