The alpine skiing team of the Special Olympics Team BC 2024 Training Squad is ready to hit the slopes in Calgary! Nine athletes are poised to achieve personal bests and pursue medal finishes, while proudly representing their hometown communities of SOBC – Coquitlam, Delta, Kimberley/Cranbrook, Langley, Nanaimo, Revelstoke, Ridge Meadows, and Vancouver.
Athletes have been receiving the expert training and advice of four talented coaches from Coquitlam, Kimberley/Cranbrook, and Revelstoke. The team also had the unique opportunity to refine their skills at an indoor skiing facility!
With the Special Olympics Canada Winter Games Calgary 2024 kicking off in less than one month, the team is confident and ready to showcase their amazing abilities.
“I am looking forward to seeing the athletes’ outcomes at National Games, with all their hard work and training they have been doing to prepare,” says SOBC – Coquitlam’s NextGen coach Isabelle Schnurr.
