It’s National Coaches Week from September 21 to 29, and we are excited to celebrate the dedicated coaches who make Special Olympics BC’s year-round programs and life-changing opportunities possible! Offering more than just sport instruction, they are teachers, role models, mentors, and friends. Their commitment to our athletes is inspirational and their support allows athletes to always strive for their best.
Meet some of the motivational individuals who give their time as Special Olympics BC coaches, such as Howard Carter Award winner Angela Behn and Grassroots Coach Award winner Stuart Holmes.
From September 21 to 29, 2019, head to Coach.ca to access FREE NCCP online training!
Courses include:
- NCCP Making Head Way in Sport
- NCCP Coaching Athletes with a Disability
- NCCP Coach Initiation in Sport
- NCCP Emergency Action Plan
Coaches can also visit viaSport British Columbia’s website to find a great range of NCCP courses on offer. SOBC does have a list of courses that our coaches must take, which you can review here. After completing this list, coaches are welcome to continue to expand their knowledge with any courses they may find of interest.
Thank you again to all of our coaches that give their time to make a difference across B.C.!
