When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?
2007, an old schoolmate told me about it.
Will these be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, which other National Games did you compete in, and in what sports?
Yes.
What were your results in the 2023 Special Olympics BC Winter Games? How did you feel about your performance?
Second place and I felt proud.
What does it mean to you to be part of Special Olympics Team BC 2024?
It means a great deal to be a part of Special Olympics, and I'm proud and honour to be a part of SO Team BC.
What is your goal for these National Games?
To do my personal best and potentially make World Games.
What does competing at National Games mean to you?
It means I've worked very hard to be chosen to represent Vancouver Island for figure skating. I hope to make my family and community proud of me.
What do you like most about the sport you will compete in at National Games?
To me, it's having fun, enjoying my sport, and meeting new friends.
What would you tell someone about Special Olympics to encourage them to get involved?
Come on out and give it a try! There are a lot of different sports to choose from and it's fun. Plus, you get to meet lots of people.
Please tell us a little bit more about yourself! What else would you like people to know about you?
I joined figure skating when I was 15, and you are never too old to join a sport.
What is one word you would use to describe yourself? :)
Determined.
