When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?

1996/1997 with SOBC – Surrey gymnastics and floor hockey.

Will these be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, which other National Games did you compete in, and in what sports?

The 2020 National Games in bowling and our team won bronze.

What were your results in the 2023 Special Olympics BC Winter Games? How did you feel about your performance?

We won gold and the team did great and are all excited to be going to Calgary.

What does it mean to you to be part of Special Olympics Team BC 2024?

Very exciting.

What is your goal for these National Games?

To win gold of course.

What does competing at National Games mean to you?

I have been bowling since I was a teenager and I feel that I am getting better every year. So going to the National Games is proof I am getting better.

What do you like most about the sport you will compete in at National Games?

It is a team sport and I enjoy being with friends and teammates.

What would you tell someone about Special Olympics to encourage them to get involved?

It is not only sports but a great social adventure. You meet many people and make many friends.

Please tell us a little bit more about yourself! What else would you like people to know about you?

I not only bowl but also golf, floor hockey, and play basketball. I live with my parents and my brother and niece. I have two jobs, one at FreshCo and the other at Denbow where I have worked at for 13 years. I also draw and have my characters put on sweatshirts that I give to friends.

What is one word you would use to describe yourself? :)

Social.
