Why Special Olympics

Special Olympics BC programs change lives and create inclusive communities throughout our province. Our mission is to offer year-round sports, youth, and health programs and competitions that help adults and children with intellectual disabilities enrich their lives and experience the joy of achievement, acceptance, and friendship.

Seeing Special Olympics athletes and their abilities in the spotlight opens hearts and minds to create more inclusive communities.

More than 4,300 vital volunteers across the province make Special Olympics BC programs possible for our more than 5,200 athletes. And none of the fun, games, and life-changing experiences would be possible without the support of our donors and sponsors.

Join Special Olympics BC and share in the joy.
