When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?
2009, I wanted to be involved in Special Olympics to learn new things, meet people and travel to places I never been before.
Will these be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, which other National Games did you compete in, and in what sports?
Yes, this will be my first Nationals.
What were your results in the 2019 Special Olympics BC Winter Games? How did you feel about your performance?
First place and winning the gold medal, I felt quite proud of my performance.
What does it mean to you to be part of Special Olympics Team BC 2020?
Getting to know people.
What is your goal for these National Games?
Getting my second gold medal.
What does competing at National Games mean to you?
When I got picked, I felt honour and I'm glad to be going to Thunder Bay.
What do you like most about the sport you will compete in at National Games?
Fast-paced action.
What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?
Going to Vernon for my second Provincial Winter Games.
What would you tell someone about Special Olympics to encourage them to get involved?
You get to meet new friends and you get to travel.
What other Special Olympics sports do you participate in?
Besides floor hockey, I participate in 5-pin bowling and softball.
Please tell us a little bit more about yourself! What else would you like people to know about you?
I love cheering on my favourite CFL team the Saskatchewan Roughriders. I also like the Vancouver Canucks and Detroit Red Wings. I like listening to my favourite radio station from Cuba, Radio Havana Cuba. I also like collecting QSL cards from different radio stations around the world.
