Sport Events – Friday February 3 and Saturday February 4
Posted schedules are estimates and may be subject to real-time changes. Events sometimes conclude early, so spectators are encouraged to attend at the posted start time rather than the estimated end time.
SOBC Winter Games sports:
- 5-pin bowling
- Alpine skiing
- Cross country skiing
- Curling (posted Feb 3, 12:30 p.m.)
- Figure skating
- Floor hockey (posted Feb 3, 12:30 p.m.)
- Snowshoeing
- Speed skating
For most events, admission is free and tickets are not required!
At alpine skiing: on February 3, any spectators MUST purchase their own lift pass and be able to ski or board to the competition run; the run will not be visible from the mountain bottom or on foot; on February 4, the competition run can be viewed from the base of the ski hill, near the Sun Peaks resort.

Healthy athletes screenings
The 2023 SOBC Games will offer free, fun, and valuable health screenings for people with intellectual disabilities, delivered by volunteer professionals who are trained to help and offer a welcoming environment. The SOBC Games will feature Healthy Athletes screenings in the disciplines of Health Promotion (health information), Healthy Hearing (audiology), and Special Smiles (dentistry).
Screenings will run Friday, February 3, during the following times:
- 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. – open to all local individuals with intellectual disabilities
- 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. – for SOBC Games athletes ONLY

There is no public Closing Ceremony. Games participants will have a Victory Dance that is closed to the public.
