Welcome to Special Olympics Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Summer Games Gander 2025!
We know our Special Olympics athletes, coaches and volunteers have been hard at work preparing for the upcoming Games and we are excited to host the Games in the welcoming Town of Gander.
Athletes competing in Athletics, Bocce, Golf and Swimming will arrive in Gander on Thursday July 3rd for the Opening Ceremonies, closing the weekend out on Sunday July 6th with the awards presentation.

SONL Provincial Summer Games 2025
Athlete Eligibility
Athletes must be registered with their community club and participating in the sport they chose to compete in.
Athletes must be 10 years of age or older as of January 1, 2025.
Athletes must be identified by their community club to attend Games and complete any necessary forms.
Provincial Team Program (PTP)
Some athletes may be interested in being identified for selection to the Provincial Team Program who will be training to attend Special Olympics Canada Summer Games Medicine Hat 2026.
Athletes interested in this opportunity must 13 years of age or older as of January 1 2025.
Athletes must identify, in writing to SONL, which sport they would like to be identified in for Provincial Team Training Program.
Athletes must have been registered and training in their chosen sport during the 2023-2024 season.
Athletes must attend the Qualifying Event for their chosen sport. The Qualifying Event for Athletics, Bocce (singles only), Golf (Level 4 - under 70 avg only) and Swimming is the SONL Provincial Summer Games Gander 2025.
FAMILIES & SPECTATORS
Special Olympics Provincial Summer Games Gander 2025 is a free event to attend and cheer on our amazing athletes.
Opening Ceremonies will take place on Thursday July 3rd at the Evangel Pentecostal Community Church (130 Magee Rd).
Competition days will be Friday July 4 and Saturday July 5.
Athletics will take place at on the track near Gander Elementary School (10 Penney Ave)
Bocce will take place on the Softball field (on the corner of Elizabeth Dr & Memorial Dr)
Golf will take place at the Gander Golf Club (251 Trans Canada Hwy)
Swimming will take place at Arts & Culture Centre pool (155 Airport Blvd)
Awards will take place on Sunday (morning) July 6 at the Steele Community Centre (155 Airport Blvd)

SONL currently has most of the hotel rooms in Gander booked for our registered Games participants. We will releasing any extra rooms mid-April for families to avail of.
