How long have you been involved with Special Olympics?
I've been involved for six years!
How is your life different since joining Special Olympics?
It has provided value and understanding that I've implemented into my everyday. It’s changed my outlook on life and to accept without exceptions! It’s given me a place of belonging and to improve the lives of our athletes through sport, which has been very rewarding!
What do you like most about the sport you will be competing in at Special Olympics World Summer Games Berlin 2023?
I like the sense of family and community that such a large athletics team brings. It’s great seeing all the different athletes succeed at their different events, but at the end of the day cheering on all their teammates.
What is your proudest moment with Special Olympics?
My proudest moment is when an athlete finally achieved a skill at practice that they had been working on for five plus years. Also, being selected to be part of this amazing team!
What does Special Olympics and attending World Games mean to you?
It means the opportunity to assist in providing the best possible Games experience for our athletes, coaches, staff, etc. I'm so excited that I get to be part of such an amazing experience and see our athletes grow and develop all around.
What is your goal for Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023?
My goal is to learn the knowledge needed to provide the best possible experience for our athletes and do whatever they need to so they can succeed in that environment and leading up to!
