4-year-old Alma Loken started with Special Olympics in her local Active Start program in the fall of 2015 and has loved every minute of it. Since she first enrolled in the program, Alma has learned to walk independently and has even starting running, skipping, jumping and kicking a ball. She has made friends with the other athletes in her Active Start program and has won the hearts of program volunteers with her determination and her joyful disposition. An important milestone in her young life so far was running for the first time at her Active Start program. Once Alma is old enough, she looks forward to getting on the ice to figure skate and perform rhythmic gymnastics. One day she hopes to represent Canada at a Special Olympics World Games!
