This course is designed to empower coaches with the knowledge and tools they need to educate athletes about the importance of good nutrition. By understanding how to fuel their bodies effectively, athletes can get the most out of participation in Special Olympics programs – from grassroots to Games – setting the foundation for lifelong healthy eating habits and an active lifestyle.

In-store Fundraising Support
Each year, Empire Company Limited (Sobeys Inc.) banner stores hold a fundraising campaign to support Special Olympics Canada. Empire matches customer donations at participating banner stores, up to $500,000! Participating banner stores include Sobeys, Safeway, Foodland, IGA West, Foodland and participating Co-Ops, Thrifty Foods, Lawtons Drugs and Needs convenience stores across Canada.
This year, Empire and their customers raised over $1.4 Million to help Special Olympics athletes.
Together, we are helping to support the health of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and creating more inclusive communities across Canada.
