The first day of competition was successful for #SOTeamCanada17 athletes! Despite snowshoe and cross country events being cancelled for the day due to weather, alpine skiiers had a successful day on the slopes, finishing the day with 3 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze and 2 5th place finishes. Both floor hockey East and West played their first rounds of competition today. Floor hockey Team East won their game against Team Jamaica with a final score of 12 – 0. Team West played twice, the first game culminated in a 3-0 win, while they had a hard fought battle in the second game against Team Ukraine, with the final score remaining tied at 6-6. Speed skaters divisioned for the 777m this morning, while the figure skating squad continued the compolsury elements portion of their competition.
