How long have you been involved with Special Olympics?
I started to participate in Special Olympics at 18 years old. That was 32 years ago!
How is your life different since joining Special Olympics?
Special Olympics keeps me fit and healthy and gives me the chance to be a leader in my community and a great mentor to up and coming athletes.
How have you been preparing yourself for competition?
I train 5 times a week. My goal is to get my personal best in my races!
What is the biggest challenge you have overcome in your life?
My biggest challenge in my life was also competing in Paralympics events.
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
I am most proud of who I have become both as an athlete and as a leader.
What does Special Olympics and attending World Games mean to you?
To be selected for the Special Olympics Team Canada Training Squad is an achievement for the dedicated training for the previous years leading up to these Games.
