How long have you been involved with Special Olympics?
Around 25 years. I joined in 1975.
How is your life different since joining Special Olympics?
I have made more friends. Special Olympics has made me more confident in myself, gained more independence and have I learned to be a supportive teammate.
How have you been preparing yourself for competition?
I train five days a week and working on being the best I can be at my sport.
What is the biggest challenge you've overcome in your life?
My biggest challenge was working through my grief of losing both my parents at a young age.
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
I am most proud to have qualified to participate in these World Games in Russia!
What does Special Olympics and attending World Games mean to you?
It means so much to me. It makes me happy to see how proud and excited my family and friends are for me.
