How long have you been involved with Special Olympics?

I’ve been involved with Special Olympics since 1997.

How is your life different since joining Special Olympics?

I have been to so many Games and learned new sports and training. I also have so many friends.

How have you been preparing yourself for competition?

I train 5 times a week and my goals are to do the best I can in cross-country skiing and be a good teammate.

What is the biggest challenge you have overcome in your life?

My greatest challenges in life were when my real mom and dad died in 1995, when I had brain surgery for my epilepsy in 1998 and when my dad (uncle) was battling cancer and going through COVID this year.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

I am most proud of my times in swimming from the 2019 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Abu Dhabi.

What does Special Olympics and attending World Games mean to you?

It means getting outside in fresh air during training and getting to compete in the sport that I love.
