How long have you been involved with Special Olympics?
I joined when I was 9 years old so I have been a participant for 24 years.
How is your life different since joining Special Olympics?
Now I can participate in sport and I have had the opportunity to see a lot of Canada and the world.
How have you been preparing yourself for competition?
I train three to five times per week. I want to be in the best shape that I can be to be ready to compete to the best of my ability.
What is the biggest challenge you've overcome in your life?
It took me a long time to learn to read but now I can read novels and have a book on the go all the time.
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
I am proud of my medals from World Games in South Korea. They represent how hard I worked to earn them.
What does Special Olympics and attending World Games mean to you?
It means that I can participate in competitive sport. I love competition and seeing how far I can go. It is an honour to attend World Games and represent Canada.
