How long have you been involved with Special Olympics?
I joined Special Olympics in 1992.
How is your life different since joining Special Olympics?
With Special Olympics I have had the chance to travel and make new friends.
How have you been preparing yourself for competition?
My goal is to compete at my best and to do my best. I am currently training three to four times a week.
What is the biggest challenge you've overcome in your life?
I am working towards overcoming my challenge of being shy. I continue to work on this daily in allowing myself to be more open and confident with speaking to others.
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
The accomplishment I am most proud of is being a Torchbearer in my hometown carrying the flame in to Cranbrook’s Community Celebration in 2010.
What does Special Olympics and attending World Games mean to you?
I am proud to be a Special Olympics athlete and I am honoured to be going to the World Games. By going to World Games, it provides even more awareness to Special Olympics in my hometown.
