Support rolls in for Special Olympics Saskatchewan athletes at 14th Annual Truck Convoy

Special Olympics Saskatchewan athletes Robbie and Jordan welcome drivers to the Truck Convoy

The 14th annual Truck Convoy for Special Olympics Saskatchewan was held on September 12th. This year saw one of the longest running annual fundraisers for Special Olympics Saskatchewan take on a new format, with Convoys taking place in both Regina and Saskatoon. The Convoys each completed a loop around the city and were escorted by members of the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) for Special Olympics.

In total, 53 trucks took part in the effort to raise funds and awareness for the over 1,500 Special Olympics athletes in the province. We are thankful for the tremendous support we received from the amazing drivers who took part! Also, we would like to send a BIG thank you to the Knights of Columbus and Saskatchewan LETR, who ensured the event ran smoothly. Over $19,000 was raised at the Truck Convoy. The funds go toward supporting year round training and professional development opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
