Special Olympics Canada has identified specific outcomes that require additional knowledge, skills and abilities that are relevant to coaching the Special Olympics athlete in a competitive stream. The intent is to prepare the coach to meet the specific needs of the Special Olympics athlete. The coaches will be required to demonstrate their abilities in the training (SOC Competition Introduction Workshop).

 

Please note there is a maximum of 15 registrants for this workshop. Registrants will receive workshop materials closer to the date of the first session.

Date and Time: Saturday, December 7, 2024 (9 am-5 pm) and Sunday, December 8, 2024 (9 am-1 pm)

Location: Admin Centre for Sport, Culture, and Recreation  2205 Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK

 

This course will be run fully in-person. Saturday will consist of an 8-hour session running from 9-5 pm. The Sunday session will be 4 hours running from 9-1 pm. You must attend both sessions to complete the training. There will be a 30-minute time period allotted for lunch on Saturday so we suggest and encourage all coaches that are attending to pack a lunch!
