Meet Team PEI 2026 Soccer athlete, Scottie Brouseau
Scottie Brouseau first joined Special Olympics over 15 years. Originally from Georgetown, and now living in Montague, Scottie first heard about Special Olympics from a friend. He wanted to try something new, and get out of the house more.
Scottie is looking forward to the opportunity to travel with Team PEI 2026. Outside of Special Olympics he doesn't have many opportunities to travel. He recalls fondly past Special Olympics Canada Games, having competed in both 2014 and 2018 with Team PEI Soccer. Scottie also had the opportunity to travel to the Yukon Indoor Soccer Invitational in 2019.
Being independent is important to Scottie. He has lived on his own since 2010, first in an apartment connected to Inclusions East, before moving into his own place. Scottie recalls the initial challenges living independently posed, including getting up on time. Scottie has learned to cook for himself, and enjoys cooking chicken and hamburger.
Scottie is looking forward to meeting new people at the Special Olympics Canada Games 2026. And while Scottie loves Soccer, he doesn't share the same competitive spirit as some of his teammates.
