Special Olympics NWT's very own Chelsey Makaro was selected to represent Team Special Olympics Canada at the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Berlin, Germany last month. Chelsey's participation and success was a culmination of a year-long commitment and hard work that she spent 7 days a week training either in or out of the pool. Chelsey was able to secure gold in the 25m backstroke and gold in the 4 x 50m freestyle team relay.
Chelsey not only had the support of her friends and family but also entire training staff that assisted Chelsey in her preparations to get her to Berlin. Special Olympics NWT would like to thank the following volunteer coaches for assisting her in her success at the World Games
