Volunteer Spotlight: Chris Tissot and Seth Harasem, Special Olympics Alberta-Lethbridge

Every year, Volunteer Lethbridge recognizes the youth of Lethbridge who volunteer their time throughout the community.  The "Leaders of Tomorrow" Youth Volunteer Recognition Program is held annually in conjunction with National Volunteer Week.

It recognizes youth between the ages of five and twenty four years, who have made outstanding contributions to their community through volunteerism. By recognizing these exceptional volunteers, the “Leaders of Tomorrow” Awards inspires other youth to make a positive impact on their community.

Chris Tissot, Special Olympics athlete, Kevin and Seth Harasem are all smiles after practice.
This year, two Special Olympics swim coaches are recognized for their outstanding work and dedication: Chris Tissot and Seth Harasem.

Chris Tissot has been volunteering with Special Olympics swim and golf teams for the past six years.  He began helping out with swim meets, moving up to coaching and will become the head coach for golfing this year.  He is planning on taking a golf team to the next provincials- a first for Lethbridge.

Seth Harasem has been coaching for a year now, but he is not new to the Special Olympics movement.  In the past, Seth has volunteered his time helping out at our swim meets, since he was 11.  Both Chris and Seth plan to continue coaching with Special Olympics.
Congratulations to Chris Tissot and Seth Harasem for being selected for the “Leaders of Tomorrow” Awards.
