Since 2000.
How is your life different since joining Special Olympics?
Since getting involved with Special Olympics, I've had many wonderful opportunities to go on adventures with truly remarkable people. Adventures that have impacted my life in profound ways, but none more than helping me to understand the true power of the human spirt, and its ability to power individuals past preconceived barriers or limits.
What do you like most about the sport you will be competing in at Special Olympics World Summer Games Berlin 2023?
Athletics is an interesting sport to me as there are so many very different disciplines.
What is your proudest moment with Special Olympics?
My proudest moment in Special Olympics was coaching floor hockey in my first Provincial Games some twenty plus years ago.
What does Special Olympics and attending World Games mean to you?
Being a part of Special Olympics Team Canada to me is the opportunity of a lifetime to share with others around the world what it means to be a proud Canadian. More than ever I think we need to reinforce the positive ideas that Canada represents and exemplify what it means to be Canadian.
What is your goal for Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023?
To ensure that every team member on the athletics squad is supported to the best of my abilities in order for them to perform their best on the world stage. To be a supportive teammate to the great Special Olympics Team Canada and do my part to ensure a safe, successful, and fun games for all.
