HIGHLIGHTS

• The Special Olympics World Games officially kicked off with the Opening Ceremony at Abu Dhabi's Zayed Sports City Stadium.
• Honorary Coach Marnie McBean walked in the parade of athletes with SO Team Canada.
• SO Team Canada soccer player Eddie Nicks participated in the torch relay, helping to light the cauldron at the end of the Ceremony.
• After a concert with Avril Lavigne, Luis Fonsi and others, athletes headed to bed to rest for their first day of competition tomorrow!
