Meet Danielle Waters: Special Olympics Ontario athlete performing at Rock The Rink in St. Catharines
I skate to “Up Where You Are” by Josh Groban as a tribute to my dad who died six years ago.
I am very happy and honoured to skate with these great Olympic champions. I have met Scott and Tessa at Skate Canada before and also thought it would be great to be on the ice with them. Awesome!
I was in the car when mom told me I got picked and mom says that her right ear is still ringing from me squealing so loud.
Special Olympics gave me the opportunity to experience participation at different levels from competition, while making a ton of new friends along the way.

My reaction to performing at Rock The Rink is that I am so excited to be involved and I am proud of myself. I couldn’t believe that this was happening to me. This is a huge honour.
