When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?
I got involved five years ago when I moved from Hawkesbury, Ontario, to Port Alberni. My new family thought it would be fun for me, they were right!
Will these be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, which other National Games did you compete in, and in what sports?
Nationals yes, but I have been to Provincials for swimming!
What were your results in the 2019 Special Olympics BC Winter Games? How did you feel about your performance?
I did very well, our team got gold!
What does it mean to you to be part of Special Olympics Team BC 2020?
I feel proud, honoured and excited!
What is your goal for these National Games?
To do my best and bring a good attitude.
What does competing at National Games mean to you?
I'll be experiencing something new!
What do you like most about the sport you will compete in at National Games?
Bowling is fun because I get to be with my friends!
What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?
The dance party!
What would you tell someone about Special Olympics to encourage them to get involved?
You make new friends and get to be active!
What other Special Olympics sports do you participate in?
Swimming, curling, floor hockey, bocce, basketball, baseball, track and field, and soccer.
Please tell us a little bit more about yourself! What else would you like people to know about you?
I go to college and I hold down a part-time job. I enjoy going to a day program. I worked hard to pass my learner's and have a scooter. I have had the same girlfriend for the past couple years. But most of all, I enjoy all my sports!
What is one word you would use to describe yourself? :)
Smart.
