When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?
1997 went to drop off my daughter to bowling alley and the owner of the bowling alley said they did not have a coach if someone did not step forward bowling would be cancelled.
Will this be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, which other National Games were you part of and in what role(s)?
Yes as a coach. Was mission staff back in 2016.
What does it mean to you to be part of Special Olympics Team BC 2020?
It is a great honour to be chosen as a coach to bring a team to National Games.
What is/are your goal(s) for these National Games?
My goals are to work with the athletes to bring out their best performance and help them to win gold.
What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?
Watching the team I took to Provincials accept their medals, and two of them performing their best at Games.
What does competing at National Games mean to your athletes? (or, if this is your first National Games, competition in general)
For all of them it will be their first National Games.
What storylines are you excited to see develop in your Team BC sport team leading up to the National Games?
Hearing all the great stories my bowlers have, and their excitement of being part of the training squad.
What would you say about Special Olympics to encourage someone to get involved?
Come on out, you might be on a provincial team training squad one day also with hard work and dedication.
