2024 BC Law Enforcement Torch Run Award winner: Estee Clifford

Abbotsford Police Department Constable Estee Clifford has been a valued Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) participant for 14 years, and the Abbotsford Police Department Special Olympic BC liaison for the past 3 years. In recognition of her dedicated and impactful presence within the LETR, Clifford is the 2024 recipient of the BC Law Enforcement Torch Run Award.

Clifford strives to improve LETR awareness, increase agency participation and support fundraising initiatives for Special Olympics. She was an instrumental organizer in the annual Abbotsford Polar Plunge, which raised over $30,000 in 2024 with her support. Further, she acted as the Abbotsford Police Department representative at the 2023 International Law Enforcement Torch Run Conference.  

Clifford continues to foster a culture of acceptance and belonging. She often organizes community interaction events between Special Olympics athletes and the Abbotsford Police Department, including annual basketball and baseball games. She presents at Special Olympics BC — Abbotsford award ceremonies and ensures all individuals are valued, respected and provided opportunities to succeed.

Prior to becoming a police officer, Clifford was an SOBC coach who supported her athletes. Her connection with Special Olympics runs deep, with her immediate family members engaged both as volunteers and athletes.
