The 2019 Special Olympics Alberta Winter Games proudly unveils the logo that captures the strength, sport and spirit of Calgary as the host of the Provincial Winter Games from February 8 to 10, 2019.
The design was created by the generous talent from Mount Royal University’s Chair of Information and Design, Ben Kunz in collaboration with Special Olympics Alberta athlete, Christopher Demchuk. With the guidance and support from the Games Organizing Committee (GOC), the design celebrates the iconic Calgary Tower, the beautiful Rocky Mountains, and winter.
“We are excited to see the energy and excitement that Calgary will bring to the Winter Games,” said Johnny Byrne, president and CEO of Special Olympics Alberta.
“This city has a strong and proud history of supporting and celebrating Special Olympics. This is evident with our Games Organizing Committee, All of whom have been involved with Special Olympics in various ways. I know that these winter games will provide a legacy for future hosts to strive for.”
